Last shopping day before thanksgiving

We woke up with power this morning! Yay! They fixed it after midnight last night. So Don rode his bike to work and Debi and I went out for a 45 minute walk. On our way back we walked by a school where the kids were out at recess. One little girl has taken a special liking to Debi. She came running up to give her a big hug. Then more and more kids came up hugging both of us. I had to get some pictures. They were so cute!
We had to pick up the turkey and a few veggies but we went to an Ethiopian restaurant first for a lovely lunch. There are people selling fruits and vegetables right outside of the Meat King where we picked the turkey. Debi picked some produce and then she started dickering on the price. She is so good at bartering! She held out and got her price! We had to go to several places because no one grocery store had all we wanted. It we finally got everything. Linda had sent over a pumpkin in the morning so we baked it before we left. I will make pumpkin gingerbread tomorrow.
We got home late afternoon and sat down for a few minutes. Don is going to bbq the turkey so we roasted a chicken to get gravy. We have invited Upendo and her family to join us as well as Erik and Bernice. There may be a couple more. It should be a lot of fun.
We weren’t hungry so we played cards out on the patio until the spaghetti warmed up. I was thinking, it is the end of November and we are on the patio in short sleeves! We will probably use the patio for thanksgiving too! Do I have to go home?
Debi and I cleaned the meat off the chicken and made a wonderful broth. Then we relaxed. Good day. Sorry it was not an exciting one for the blog.
